CONTEXT :

Targeting a global market, the web was the ideal tool to present information and capture information from our customers around the world at a lower cost.  The website in 2011 was more like a distributor of English brochures and online specifications, receiving 500 visits per month.

As a tool available everywhere and economically accessible, the web was to become the heart of the global communication strategy.

ENRICHING THE CONTENT

Creation of new and more attractive content: videos, white paper
Automation of the update of the distributor map, one of the most visited pages of the site, by the CRM.
At the same time, a multilingual SEO approach was undertaken.

SETTING-UP SOCIAL MEDIA

Each post on social networks includes a link to the site. Thus, in small steps, the site becomes the reference tool.

REDESIGNING THE WEB SITE

We are starting with a version based on a dedicated CMS. The first design uses the same dominant yellow and blue colour scheme to be consistent with the other Spectra Precision entity (Geoinstruments). This version also uses the same CSS, resulting in significant savings.
The second version is based on a CMS from the market (Magento) which gives us greater flexibility in updating and the possibility of using an e-commerce capability if required. The site is now in colour and also becomes responsive.

LAUNCHING A NEW WEB SITE LAY-OUT

The 3rd version of the site focuses on the content: more relevant thanks to customer feedback, competitor analysis and various online surveys conducted. The image is more emphasized. New, much-awaited functionalities have been added: management of product obsolescence, list of complementary products, upselling option…
The site now has all the functionalities of a standard e-commerce site without the management of prices and the conversion tunnel.

THE RESULTS

The number of visits increases to 560 per day: the website traffic is multiplied by 30 in 7 years (see Google Analytics graph below)
